Mike joined the bank in 2000 as President and CEO after a career in the bond business. He is a graduate of Florida State University with a BS degree in Finance.
Mike has an extensive background in investments and economics and has been a frequent guest speaker on these and related topics at forums and conventions.
Mike was a faculty member of the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University for 21 years and also served as an Adjunct Professor for the Graduate Program in Bank Investments at the University of South Carolina School of Business. He also taught for over 20 years at both the North Carolina and South Carolina Schools of Banking.
Mike has served on a number of local non-profit organizations, as well as having been instrumental in the organization of the Burke Partnership for Economic Development, the forerunner of the current Burke Development, Inc.
Mike has served on advisory committees of the American Banker’s Association and the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA). He was also a longtime board member of the North Carolina Banker’s Association, serving as its Chairman from 2015-2016.
Having been born overseas at a US Air Base, Mike has lived in many places across our country. He enjoys watching and playing rugby, hunting and fishing, cooking for his wife and spoiling his grandchildren.

Katrina joined the institution over 20 years ago. As Chief Lending Officer, she is also the bank's Security Officer and Co-Compliance Officer. Katrina holds the ICBA's credentials, CCBSO (Certified Community Bank Security Officer) and CCBCO (Certified Community Bank Compliance Officer).
Katy serves the non-profits boards of South Mountain Children and Family Services and Gateway Wellness Foundation. A die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan, she enjoys spending time with her husband, son and family.

Lisa joined the bank's Board of Directors in 2014, having served as our longtime CPA for tax and consulting services. As immediate past Chairman of the Board, she joined the bank full-time in 2022 as our Chief Financial Officer after enjoying 33 years in public accounting.
Lisa also serves as the bank's Information Security Officer and Co-Compliance Officer. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in NC (#19979), holds the AICPA's ABV credential (Accredited in Business Valuation), the ICBA's CCBCO credential (Certified Community Bank Compliance Officer) and the ICBA's CCBIA credential (Certified Community Bank Internal Auditor).
Lisa has served on a number of non-profit boards over the years and is currently a board member of South Mountain Children and Family Services. A native of Burke County, she enjoys cooking for her husband and sons, traveling and anything outdoors.

Lisa began her career as a Teller with Morganton Savings Bank in 1992. Throughout the years she has served in a variety of roles, including Teller Supervisor, Assistant Vice President/Deposit Operations, and BSA Officer. Lisa took a sabbatical from banking in 2018, briefly retiring after 26 years of service. Fortunately for the bank, Lisa returned to us in 2022, re-assuming her positions as Assistant Vice President of Deposit Operations and BSA Officer.
Lisa holds the ICBA's CBAP credential, (Certified BSA/AML Professional). Her in-depth knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering , CIP (Customer Identification Program), and experiences with suspicious activity and fraud provides our institution a solid compliance foundation to manage our risk exposure.
A native of Morganton, Lisa "never meets a stranger". Her 30 years of banking experience affords our institution the opportunity to share Lisa's superior skills and "hometown" style with our customers, just the way a community bank should.

Ashley graduated from Gardner-Webb University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, and is a graduate of the North Carolina School of Banking. She worked in public accounting for many years before coming to work for Morganton Savings Bank in 2018. She has worked as a Loan Officer and is now working in Deposit Operations and Accounting for the Institution. Ashley is a people-person and enjoys getting to know and work closely with our customers.
In the community, Ashley serves on the boards of the North Carolina School for the Deaf at Morganton Foundation and the Alder Springs Deaf & Blind Community. Ashley is a native of Morganton and lives here with her husband and little girl. She loves spending time with family, cooking, and enjoying the outdoors in our beautiful area.

Throughout her 26 years of service with Morganton Savings Bank, Janice has built valuable relationships and memorable experiences with our customers. Janice proudly serves as the bank’s drive-thru teller and customer service representative, opening new accounts and handling a wide variety of teller services.
She takes pride in her job performance as well as delivering her best and most friendly service to our customers.
In 2022, she was honored to receive recognition from her customers and the community in being voted the “Best Bank Teller” in the “Best of Burke” contest.
Born and raised in Morganton, she and her husband have been married for 44 years. They have 2 sons and 5 grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys painting, crafts, hanging out at the beach and most of all spending time with her family and friends.

As Teller and Customer Service Representative, she focuses on opening new IRA accounts and handling a variety of other services for our customers. Jennifer has participated in a number of education courses with the American Banker's Association regarding retirement account management. She enjoys interacting with her customers and takes pride in providing excellent customer service.
Jennifer and her husband have one married daughter. She enjoys going to the beach every chance she gets, crafting, baking, and reading crime fiction and historical books.
